Acer Aspire 4230 Laptop Keyboard Usage

As the title indicates, laptops are designed for convenience. However, we must take care when keyboarding on laptop computers. Despite of its name, we should not position the portable computers on our lap. There are two reasons for this. For one reason, this will lead to poor keyboarding posture which can cause neck, shoulder, or back pain, even headache. For another reason, the extreme heat which is thrown off by these units will cause some internal damage to us when they are placed on laps for regular periods of time. Therefore, keeping a "neutral posture" is preferable, and below are some tips to help us.

First of all, we should place our Acer Aspire 4230 Keyboard on a fixed laptop stand. Laptops are not designed ergonomically. The fact that the laptop keyboards areas are connected decided that proper LCD monitor height and proper keyboarding hand positions cannot be set independently. There list some suggestions for those people who use laptops for more than several hours each day. You will find they very useful. For example, adding a full-size plug-in or wireless laptop keyboard and mouse will let you position the laptop keyboard much more comfortably.

Maintaining your body in "neutral posture" is to say keep your body's joints in a mid-range of motion when you work at your computer workstation. When your arms are relaxed, they are in neutral posture. Wrists which are kept straight are also in neutral posture. Remembering all this in mind, let's take a closer look at how to keep the most ergonomic position when you are working on your laptop.

1. Keep a comfortable viewing distance away from the screen.

2. Tilt the LCD screen at an angle for easy viewing so that you will not stretch or compact your neck to view the screen.

3. Plce laptop keyboard at a certain height and angle which maintains your shoulders, arms and wrist in neutral position.

4. Place laptop keyboards directly in front of you and close to you.

5. You should not place your mouse adjacent to the keyboard and at the same height. You should avoid extended and elevated reaching for either the keyboard or mouse. Keep the back of your wrist flat in a neutral position.

6. If you have a separate keyboard connected to your laptop, you'd better place it on a "negative tilt" keyboard tray to help keep wrists straight while typing.
